KARLA MARIE LEAHY

Karla grew up in Oakton, VA, a suburb of Washington D.C. After a chilly year in Rhode Island pursing a Culinary Degree from Johnson & Wales University she fled to Charleston for warmth. Continuing her education in the hospitality industry she earned a Masters Degree in Hotel/Restaurant/Tourism/Management at the University of South Carolina.

For eight years she worked at the prestigious Kiawah Island Country Club in Club Management and as their Corporate Recruiter and Trainer.

In 2004, Karla and husband, Daniel Leahy, formed DJL Appraisals, Inc. a residential appraisal company appraising homes in Charleston, Dorchester and Berkeley counties. Her dealings with mortgage lenders, banks, and realtors, while managing the appraisal office, has given Karla a true insider’s view of the real estate industry in the Charleston area. Being able to apply her past experience serving clientele from all over the world and her appraisal and business knowledge, lends to a natural ability to meet the needs of clients in the Charleston real estate market.
